Exclusive Connection T.O. by Lucia Montuschi financed the restoration work, carried out by Silvia Bensi.

Portrait of a Man, c. 1515

Oil on panel
1890 Inventory no. 2155
19th century frame

This portrait comes from the monastery of San Nicolo di Cafaggio. It has been attributed to Ridolfo Bigordi, son of Domenico Ghirlandaio. According to Vasari, Ridolfo was a student of Fra Bartolomeo and became a friend of Raphael during his stay in Florence. The stylistic characteristics and the format of the painting, which recall typologically the models widely diffused at the end of the previous century, suggest the work should be placed among the those of the artist’s early mature work.
